Extra information
A new swimming pool was opened in the spring of 2008. By the pool is a childrens pool and a hot-tub with a whirlpool. The sports center was opened in the fall of 2004 and has transformed all sporting facilities in Skaftárhreppur. A gymnasium is open alongside the swimming pool. Locker rooms and service facilities are used by both swimming pool and gymnasium. The heating of the water is handled by a recycling eneregy station in a cojoined building.
